Multiskilled, BJTC accredited, award winning journalist with hands-on experience in TV, radio, print, online and multimedia storytelling. Skilled in producing, scripting, editing, reporting and presenting, confident with tools such as iNews and the Adobe suite, with a passion for uncovering human-centred stories and creating engaging content across platforms. A current John Schofield Fellow and recent graduand from the University of Salford.

📺 ITV West Country Placement | 31st March - 4th April 2025
- Shadowed newsroom staff, attended production meetings, and practiced presenting bulletins with feedback from Alex Lovell.
- Wrote stories for social media, assisted in writing broadcast content, and fixed an interview.
- Received 5/5 on all feedback: “Rhys was very engaged and proactive... He demonstrated real enthusiasm for news, was confident and was more than happy to get involved with phone-bashing. We can see a fantastic journalism career for him.”
📰 Manchester Evening News Placement | 24th - 27th June
-Independently sourced and completed a story which got published on the website
-Sent out to cover a story alone, representing the MEN. Successfully interviewed people and covered the whole story which I then co-wrote and got published on the website.
-Shadowed a court reporter throughout a court case, practicing my shorthand and conduct.

- Provide paid work for episodes focusing on true crime and court cases.
📻 TONE FM - Presenter | Sept 2021 – Feb 2025
- Presented a weekly show, scripted and presented community news and travel bulletins, hosted a live stage at a County Show and conducted interviews, including with Michael Morpurgo.
📺 YouTube - RHanson | Mar 2021 – Present
- Created a YouTube channel focused on automotive journalism.
- Gained experience in editing, presenting, and generating ideas.
- Achieved 420,000+ views as of January 2026 and receive an income.
